Trial Version Usage Basic Instructions
Step 1
Install NSP to your workstation.
Download the trial zip file and extract the contents to your workstation. Then run the server exe file on the your (admin) workstation. Go through the installer and be sure to click "Allow" or "Unblock" on any firewall messages that appear after installing. Once you are inside the Admin Control Panel, proceed to the next step.
Step 2
Install the client setup file to other workstations you wish to monitor.
Copy the client.exe installer file to a shared network folder so you can access it on your network. Then go to a few workstations and install the client.exe setup file. Reboot each PC after installation. Be sure to click "Allow" or "Unblock" on any firewall messages that appear after installing. Once a user logs in, Net Spy Pro will work for 60 minutes.
Step 3
Connect to a workstation from your workstation.
To start, click "View Logs". Then click Refresh All. Your networked PC's should appear in the list. If nothing appears you can use the "Network Scan" to scan for systems. From either screen, click a system to select it. Then click "View Activities".
A browser screen will appear asking for the password. By default the password is "retinax". After you are logged in, click any of the commands on the left side to utilize the software on the PC you are connected to.
NOTE: You can also simply type the internal IP address of a client machine in your web browser to connect to a machine. If you get "Page cannot be displayed" simply click refresh to restart the connection.
Step 4
Try the unique "Real-time View" features of NSP.
From your Admin Control Panel, click "Real-time View". Then click Add to add some workstations to the Real-time list. Then click "Start Session" to view what task each user's PC is currently on.
Don't miss the "View Screens" command. A browser screen will appear with real time screen images of each workstation in the list. Also check out the Live Keystroke viewer located in the web panel after you connect to a machine.
