Spy Pro Review
A quick note on "Customer Support".
Excellent!!! Upon installatiion, I needed a
file (Comdlg32.dll)and their support pointed
me to an excellent source for a free download
with detailed installation instructions that
solved the problem...all within minutes of my
request. My second call for Customer Support
came after my daughter disabled security protocals
(Anti-virus and firewall) in order to access
information more rapidly on her laptop. Bad
move...she infected my entire network with a
multi-payload worm which drops a trojan, has
its own list of passwords, ferrets out keycodes,
masquerades as valid programs (changes its name),
makes entries in the registry that cause Anti-virus
programs to ignore them upon scans, repeatedly
tries to make outbound-calls (works only on
dial-up connections) that are through long-distance
servers to drive the phone-bill up, and attempts
to open-up various ports consecutively to keep
your memory allocation and CPU timings tied
up. All-in-all, not very pleasant. After the
'nasties' were removed, I couldn't use the password
to access my 'Net Spy Pro'. Five hours after
I created a 'call ticket', I received a response
that cured my dilemma in mere moments...less
than five minutes. I feel secure now.
My last note(s): Whew! No software is a substitute
for a good, attentive parent. Just like a hammer
isn't going to jump-up by itself to build you
that nice wooden-boat you've always wanted,
or that special, silicon, high-temp, bundt-cake
form doesn't fill it's self up and pop in the
oven automatically, these 'tools' need a govenor
(a person in charge). This is one of the best
tools I have ever invested in.
