Orbit - Network Supervision Tool
Which
versions of Windows is Net Orbit compatible with? The program is compatible with any 433mhz or greater PC running any combination of Windows XP / 2000 / NT / Vista.
Does
Net Orbit work on my network type?
The software works with any standard TCP/IP Windows®
based Network which can be wired or wireless.
It is not compatible with thinclients. If you
don't know what a thinclient is then you likely
don't have them.
Does
Net Orbit need to be installed onto every PC in
my network?
It is not required to install the software on
all computers in your network. You install the
Admin Application to your PC. Then the Client
Application is installed to each PC you want to
monitor. The other non-monitored PC's in your
network do not interact with Net Orbit in any
way.
Are
my other software programs compatible with this
software?
No matter which firewall software you use, it
will not be a problem with Net Orbit. If it blocks
the connection we can guide you through creating
an exclusion in your firewall which will allow
it to go through. Other software such as anti-virus
and anti-spyware are not currently known to detect
Net Orbit in any way, unlike competitors.
Will
users know they are being monitored by the program?
The application runs in stealth. It does not show in the start menu, desktop or running applications list. It's process is protected by a process watching program. A student will not be able to shut the program down.
How
does the network installation process work? The admin installs a fast installation to each client PC and then installs the Admin panel to their own workstation. The process for an entire classroom takes about 30-60 minutes.
What
do I do after the installation process is complete? First, you should add the connections from Connection > New Connection. After you have added the connection. Then go to a window and right-click inside and choose Connect. This is also the same way you perform many of the admin commands.
After
installation I can not connect to a PC to view
it. If you can't connect to some or all PCs then a firewall is probably blocking the connection. However if you have another firewall it might be blocking the port you selected. You can add an exception for that port in your firewall to allow the port and file to use the port. If you are unsure how to do this then please tell us which firewall you are using and we will help.
